During our trip through London, we spent a couple of delightful hours wandering around the Sir John Soane Museum. It’s located on a tree lined street just 15 minutes walk from the massive British Museum, but miles away in feel and style.
This little curiosity is like walking several floors into someone’s brain. An entire floor of statues, another room of amazing paintings, hand-built supports for a priceless sarcophagus, etc.
Every corner added to my growing list of questions I had. Just who, exactly, was Sir John? What was it like to be married to him, to have him as a father? Why did he curate this item and why did he display it next to that item?
